ISHQ : A RISK Less worth watch!

We have watched many, many, many love stories on telugu screen till date. So in which way is this Nithin & Nithya starrer ISHQ different from all those? By any chance it has any similarities with Hindi ISHQ? Well, can one dare to watch Nithin's movie in theater who has given many Zandu-Balm movies in a non-stop flow?

First things first, this ISHQ has got a fresh line, meaning an interesting close to real life conflict, but the same couldn't be etched so well with an appealing screenplay especially where it was badly required in 2nd half. The 1st half, though doesn't reveal much about story will try it's level best to keep you entertained all the way, with freshly (inspired, of course)designed scenes with interesting Hero characterization and extension of Heroine characterization from Ala Modalaindi. Movie begins on a promising note with a hook placed right at the title sequence, lead pair get's introduced without any hungama. The chemistry between the lead pair is so refreshing with soulful, unique, lovable romantic scenes. There is a subtle yet healthy humor throughout.  Interval is given with an attention-grabbing scene; one may not refer it as a Twist or Bang! The 2nd half doesn't make you give-up but gives a de-ja-vu feel as the mode shifts to familiar format of commercial cinema. Still the 2nd half has it's own merits with good songs, comedy though the Hero opponent's characterization is weak and confusing. All said, the movie ends on a simple commercial happy go-lucky note.

Coming to performances, undoubtedly it can be said: one of the finest ever works from @actor_nithiin leaves an impression, "not many directors rightly utilized his real hidden stuff". He is cool and casual, simple yet stylish. The best part is playful and is within limits, without any unnecessary hyper energy. Nithya Menon is good and looks natural. Ajay is good though the characterization isn't etched well. Ali & Srinivas Reddy impresses in a simple, cake-walk, trademark style of their own in a blink & miss appearance. Nagineedu, though is good, should work on modulation else his appearance on screen would lead to boredom. Rest does adequate filling the gaps.

The dialogues are natural and apt, sticking to the situation. Screenplay is good on the whole, with hiccups in the later part. Direction is decent. Editing is adequate considering the screenplay. Music is very good. Camera work is a huge asset, but color grading could have been better. Production values are splendid.

Now it can be understood this love story is simple yet different in it's own way and has no connection with hindi ISHQ but one may feel like it has a musically & visually impressive package as 1st half with a mix of Kamal's PushpakaVimanam & Nag's RavoyiChandamama (Amir's Mann) whereas the 2nd half progresses with Srinu Vytla's formula ... conversion of a negative character to positive with a too good to believe hero.  Well, director too proves his versatility his work being 13B, a Horror Flick. Wish to see his more works.

Bottom Line:  ISHQ is a worth watch without any RISK!

In Short: A slow paced worth watch, with refreshing 1st half, passable 2nd half, decent performances, backed up by good music, visuals, and technical & production values.

Tail Piece: Telugu lo vunna best Hero Dancers lo thanu okathanu ani eppudo prove chesukunnadu Nithin, also thanani modati cinema nunde isthapade teenage ammayilu vunnaru, tharuvathi attempts sariga leka saraina directors tho cinemalu padaka time chedinatlaindi but ee movie oka best example Director ki Hero raw material ento telisi cinema teeyatam, Hero kooda thana character limitations entannadi ardham chesukuni cheyatam unlike PoolaRangadu, though it is a commercial cinema comedy, dances, fights kavali anukunna kooda, Sunil ki dance vochu annadi prove ayyaka kooda melody songs lo kooda nela mida padi paakatam enthamandini alarinchindo telusukune prayatnam chesthe munumundu time chedakunda thagu jagrathalu tesukovochhu.
